Whitman to Run for Calif. Governor

Will California replace brawns with brains? Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, confirmed today that she will run as a Republican to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger as California’s governor in 2010. Last month, Whitman resigned from the boards of eBay, Procter & Gamble, and DreamWorks Animation SKG in order to pave the way for a gubernatorial run. She has begun hiring some staff from Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. Potential opponents on the Democratic side include state Attorney General and former Governor Jerry Brown and U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein.
