White House Proposes $6.5B in Cuts

At least now they have two weeks to find a way to the middle of these proposals. The White House proposed trimming another $6.5 billion from federal programs this year, while Republicans continue to demand $61 billion in cuts. Vice President Joe Biden took the offer to Capitol Hill, and would say only that "We had a good meeting, and the conversation will continue." The new cuts reportedly come from program terminations proposed in Obama’s 2012 budget proposal.
