White House Hints at Health-Care Veto

An early battle of President Obama’s second term may be taking shape. After presumptive House Speaker John Boehner said that repealing health-care reform was a GOP priority, Obama released talking points suggesting a veto of any attempted repeal. “While he has always made it clear that he is open to ideas from both sides of the aisle to improve these important new laws, he will not accept attempts to repeal or weaken them,” reads the White House’s statement. Though Republicans say repeal is a priority, they have acknowledged that as long as Obama is in office and Democrats are in control of the Senate repeal isn't feasible.
