As violence ressurges in Egypt, CNN and Reuters reported the United States has decided to suspend aid to the embattled nation in the coming days. But the White House issued a statement shortly after that allegations "that we are halting all military assistance to Egypt are false," and said the future of the relationship would be announced in coming days. Reports say it could be most of that package, excluding the counterterrorism section, and CNN reports Egypt has not yet been informed of the plan. Egypt recieves nearly $2 billion in total aid an average per year from the United States, with $1.3 million going toward the military. Earlier Tuesday, the State Department announced it was "deeply concerned" by the recent violence, after a spate of attacks hit the country yesterday in retaliation for 53 protestors killed by government troops on Sunday.
