White House Clarifies Trump: ‘Of Course’ He Condemns White Supremacists

The White House on Sunday said “of course” President Donald Trump was condemning right-wing extremism when on Saturday he denounced violence “on many sides” after an apparent attack on protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia. Trump on Saturday did not directly call out white supremacists and neo-Nazis. “The President said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry and hatred,” a White House spokesperson said Sunday, “and of course that includes white supremacists, KKK, neo-nazi and all extremist groups. He called for national unity and bringing all Americans together.”
