Washington Redskins Dump RG3

Quarterback Robert Griffin III, who at one time was the No. 2 overall pick it the NFL draft and a top prospect for the National Football League, was released Monday by the Washington Redskins. Griffin won the 2011 Heisman Trophy and was largely seen as the face of the Washington franchise—but injuries and underperformance led to his downfall. Just two years ago, RG3 had a statue erected and unveiled before hundreds of screaming fans, right before his alum Baylor University’s new McLane Stadium was inaugurated. Griffin didn’t play at all during the 2015 season and made only 35 starts in his career.
