If you’re over the age of 30, interested in history, political scandal and 90s hip-hop, chances are you’ve made the joke that Warren G. of ‘Regulate’ fame should do a reading of the salacious love letters written by late U.S. president Warren G. Harding to his mistress Carrie Phillips.
Jimmy Kimmel made that joke a reality. The 90s rapper paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday to do exactly that. As the house band played a backing track similar to ‘Regulate’—which sampled Michael McDonald’s blue-eyed soul ballad, ‘I Keep Forgettin'’—Warren G. recited some of the 29th president’s most sexually charged sentiments. It’s safe to assume that bosoms did in fact heave.
While Warren G. did his namesake’s sexy prose justice with his smooth voice, one thing that remains unclear from the letters is if Harding and Phillips had ever rendezvous’d at the Eastside Motel.
