Violent Protests Hit West Bank

Clashes broke out between Palestinians and the Israeli Army in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday. Palestinian youths were hurling stones at soldiers in all three major cities in the West Bank—Ramallah, Hebron, and Nablus. In Nablus crowds chanted, “Strike, strike, Tel Aviv.” Soldiers retaliated with tear-gas canisters, stun grenades, and live ammunition in some cases. At least two Palestinians were reportedly shot in the legs by Israeli gunfire during a demonstration outside a prison in Ramallah. The Israeli military says it fires live ammunition only after they have fired warning shots and “exhausted all possible means” to avoid danger.
