V.A. Manager Mocked Veteran Suicides

The manager at a Veterans Affairs medical center in Indianapolis appears to have made fun of suicide attempts in emails to her employees. Robin Paul, a licensed social worker, sent photos of a Christmas elf appearing as a veteran, begging for Xanax and “caught in the act of suicidal behavior (hanging himself from an electrical cord),” as one photo is captioned. Paul released a statement apologizing for her emails: “I take full responsibility for this poor judgment. I hold all veterans and military personnel in the highest regard and am deeply remorseful for any hurt this may have caused.” Julie Webb, a VA spokeswoman, said the emails were “adminsitratively addressed.”
