U.S. Official in Russia Doesn’t Want to ‘Blame’ Anyone for MH17

Will Stevens, a spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Russia, tweeted Tuesday that “too much energy spent casting blame” for the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 by a Russian missile last year. Stevens quickly deleted the tweet and has so far not said anything else. The tweet comes on the day that Dutch officials released an official report saying a Russian-made Buk antiaircraft system shot down the passenger airliner over Ukraine last year, killing all 298 people aboard.
