Two rounds of indirect fire hit the U.S. Embassy in Kabul early Christmas morning, but no one was hurt. The Taliban was quick to claim responsibility, announcing that it fired four rockets at the American compound on Wednesday, causing many casualties. The Taliban, however, is known to overstate their activities. Meanwhile, 37 miles east of Kabul, a bicycle bomb exploded in front of a restaurant, killing six and injuring 13. Attacks by Afghan insurgents have increased recently in an effort to reclaim territory as foreign troops prepare for full withdrawal from the country next year.
