U.N. Team Arrives in Syria

A United Nations humanitarian team has arrived in Syria to assess the effects of President Bashar al-Assad's five-month-long crackdown against opposition protesters. Foreign journalists have been largely kept out of Syria, and the government has suppressed any reporting on the violence. The hope is that the U.N. team will be able to give a clearer picture of the crisis. The opposition is claiming heavy brutality by Assad's security forces, and the government claims an armed and organized rebellion that's terrorizing residents.
