UN: Iran Makes Diplomatic Progress

The UN's nuclear watchdog offered a hopeful but mixed report on Iran's progress in working with the international community. During the Feb. 8-9 talks in Tehran, Iran agreed to take several new measures to alleviate concerns about its nuclear technology and become more transparent. However, "There are still a lot of outstanding issues," said Tero Varjoranta, deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Iran continues to deny claims that it intends to make nuclear weapons, but Varjoranta said the agency must still investigate whether the country's nuclear program has possible military links.
