MOMENT OF SILENCE

Ukraine Declares National Mourning Day

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has declared a day of national mourning to honor the coal miners killed in a gas blast in the Donetsk region. A minute’s silence will be observed at midday. At least 32 men were killed and one is still missing. Rebels in control of the territory where the mine is located have rejected Poroshenko’s demands to let government rescuers in.
