Uganda Prez Signs Anti-Gay Law

After publicly going back and forth on whether he would sign his parliament's anti-gay bill, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has now authorized the draconian bigotry, strengthening the country's laws against homosexuality by punishing certain acts with life imprisonment. Museveni said at one point that he would not sign the bill, claiming homosexuals were “sick” and needed help, not punishment. Then he changed his mind and said science confirmed homosexuality was an abnormal behavior, and thus, a choice. President Obama declared the bill an "affront and a danger to the gay community,” and said it will affect the U.S.'s relationship with Uganda.
