Uganda Media Lists 200 'Top' Gays

By signing Uganda's anti-gay bill into law, President Yoweri Museveni has ushered in an even more hostile and dangerous environment for gay citizens of his country. One day after the signing, Ugandan tabloid The Red Pepper (which doesn't sound gay at all) outed—or claimed to out—the country’s “200 top” homosexuals, publishing names and photos under the headline “EXPOSED!” Uganda now punishes homosexuality with life in prison. "The enactment of the anti-homosexuality bill has only emboldened the population in their rejection of anybody perceived to be gay or even friendly to gays," said Nicholas Opiyo of a Ugandan rights group.
