Two Killed at Virginia Tech

At least two people have been killed on the campus of Virginia Tech, the university spokesman said in a statement. A police officer stopped a suspect, who opened fire, killing the officer. The officer has been identified as Deriek W. Crouse. Police and government officials said that the second body found is that of the man who shot and killed the police officer and have lifted the campus-wide alert, insisting that the area was safe. University officials already canceled finals. The university was the scene of the deadliest shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history, when in 2007 Cho Seung-Hui killed 32 people before committing suicide.
