Twitter announced Tuesday that it intends to ban “dehumanizing language” on the social-media platform, and asked for input on the proposal from users. “With this change, we want to expand our hateful conduct policy to include content that dehumanizes others based on their membership in an identifiable group, even when the material does not include a direct target,” the company said in a blog post. Twitter also invited users to send feedback about the policy directly to the company before it’s put into action. “We want your feedback to ensure we consider global perspectives and how this policy may impact different communities and cultures,” the post says. Twitter has been under fire recently for its policy enforcement, particularly regarding the now-suspended accounts of InfoWars and Alex Jones.
