Tutu’s Daughter Quits Priesthood After Marrying a Woman

The daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu has quit the priesthood after she married a woman. Rev. Mpho Tutu-van Furth, who was a priest in South Africa’s Anglican church, said she can no longer work at the church because it does not recognize gay marriage. “After my marriage... the bishop of Saldanha Bay was advised that he must revoke my license,” she said. “I offered to return my license rather than require that he take it from me.”
