Turkish P.M.: Protesters ‘Extremists’

Turkish Prime Minister Reycip Tayyip Erdogan is starting to sound a lot like the rulers who fell to the Arab Spring. As demonstrations in Turkey continued Monday, Erdogan called protesters “extremists” who live “arm-in-arm with terrorism.” Hundreds of police and protesters have been injured since Friday, when protests over the razing of an Istanbul park turned into demonstrations against Erdogan’s regime. Police have been firing tear gas and water cannons against protesters across the country, and protesters have been hurling rocks and lighting fires.
