Tugboats Reach Stranded Cruise Ship

Tugboats and cutter ships are slowly escorting the 113,000-ton Carnival Splendor cruise ship back to California after an engine fire caused the power to shut off Monday. The ship has been dead in the Pacific ocean about 200 miles south of San Diego since then. Passengers and crew are all unharmed, but the ship was running low on food and water. The U.S. Navy has sent 50,000 pounds of food to the passengers and crew to sustain them. Cargo planes were loaded with crab meat, croissants, Spam, and other food items.
