Trump Walks Out of Meeting With Democrats on Shutdown

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said President Trump “walked out” of his meeting with Democrats on the shutdown after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said they would not fund his desired border wall. According to Schumer, Trump told them, “We have nothing to discuss” and then “walked out.” “He said it was a waste of his time,” Schumer continued. “This was really unfortunate and something unbecoming of the presidency.” Trump also confirmed that he walked out of the meeting in a tweet. “Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier?” Trump wrote. “Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!”
