Trump ‘Seriously Considering’ a Pardon for Sheriff Joe Arpaio
President Trump might pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial Maricopa County sheriff who was recently found guilty of criminal contempt. “I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” the president told Fox News. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.” Arpaio, 85, defied an Arizona judge’s order to stop racial profiling in traffic patrols. He was convicted of the crime two weeks ago and recently told The Arizona Republic that he would welcome a pardon from his friend Trump.
