Trump Sees ‘A Lot of Happiness’ on Second Houston Visit

On his second visit to Houston this week, President Trump on Saturday visited an emergency relief center to meet some of the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The president, who was accompanied by first lady Melania Trump, was seen handing out hot dogs and posing for photos with Houston residents forced out of their homes by catastrophic flooding. He said he was seeing “a love of love” and “a lot of happiness” as the city recovers from the storm. “The message is that things are working out well. Really, I think people appreciate what’s been done. It’s been done very efficiently, very well, and that’s what we want. We’re very happy with the way everything is going. A lot of love. There’s a lot of love,” Trump said. He also visited with children affected by the storm, who he said are “doing great.” Trump faced harsh criticism for his first visit to the flood-ravaged city, with critics saying his decision to boast about high turnout rather than commenting on the storm’s victims was tone deaf.
