Trump Pushes for New U.N. Sanctions Against North Korea

President Trump on Monday urged the United Nations Security Council to be prepared to impose new sanctions on North Korea, especially in light of concerns the isolated regime could test its sixth nuclear bomb this evening. “The status quo in North Korea is also unacceptable,” Trump said at a White House meeting with ambassadors from 15 U.N. Security Council nations, including both Russia and China. “The council must be prepared to impose additional and stronger sanctions on North Korean nuclear and ballistic missile programs.”
