Trump Pledge Reversal Could Cost Him SC Delegates

Donald Trump’s Tuesday evening reversal on a pledge to support the Republican Party nominee could end up costing him some or all of his 50 South Carolina delegates. Even though Trump won all the state's delegates in the February 20 primary, the Palmetto State required candidates to pledge their loyalty to the eventual GOP nominee in order to appear on the primary ballot. Because Trump has verbally threatened to withdraw his loyalty, anti-Trump activists are reportedly organizing to submit a challenge for the delegates to become free-agents on a likely contested convention's first ballot.
