Trump Picks Judge Brett Kavanaugh for Supreme Court

Calling it “one of the most important decisions a president can make,” Donald Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh from the D.C. Circuit as Justice Anthony Kennedy's replacement on the Supreme Court Monday night. Kavanaugh is a Yale Law School graduate who was appointed to the Circuit court by George W. Bush. He worked in both Bush administrations and for Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel who led the investigation that preceded Bill Clinton’s impeachment in 1998. He also clerked for the outgoing Justice Kennedy, as did Justice Neil Gorsuch, who replaced Justice Antonin Scalia after his death.
