President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he can “relate” to federal workers who are not getting paid during the ongoing partial government shutdown. He also insisted that they agree with his push to secure funding for a border wall. “I can relate, and I’m sure that the people that are on the receiving end will make adjustments, they always do, and they’ll make adjustments. People understand exactly what’s going on. But many of those people that won’t be receiving a paycheck, many of those people agree 100 percent with what I’m doing,” Trump told reporters. The president is still far from a deal to end the shutdown, as congressional Democrats are refusing to accept Trump’s demands for border wall funding.
