Trump Continues Softening on Immigration

During the second part of his two-hour Wednesday interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Donald Trump again seemed to signal that he was softening his immigration stance. “No citizenship,” Trump said in response to a question about his previous plan to deport all undocumented immigrants. “Let me go a step further—they’ll pay back-taxes, they have to pay taxes, there’s no amnesty, as such, there’s no amnesty, but we work with them.” This mirrors the policy of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who Trump savaged in the Republican primary for being soft on immigration.
