Trump Cancels Mar-a-Lago Trip Amid Looming Shutdown Fight

President Trump has cancelled his weekend Mar-a-Lago trip amid the looming government-shutdown fight in Congress, hours after postponing his trip earlier Friday. At the White House press briefing, legislative director Marc Short said that Trump has been on the phone with congressional members, looking for a “solution” to avoid a shutdown. According to The Hill, the president and first lady were originally slated to depart for Florida midday Friday.
