Hours after President Donald Trump’s new chief of staff fired his new communications director, Trump took to Twitter to boast of “a great day at the White House!” The tweet appeared to address the ongoing staff upheaval in Trump’s administration, which began July 21, when White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned in protest over the hiring of Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. Over the following week, Scaramucci attacked then-chief of staff Reince Priebus, who was ousted from his role July 27. On Monday, newly minted chief of staff John Kelly fired Scaramucci. Earlier on Monday, before Scaramucci was fired, Trump denied rumors that the White House was in turmoil. “No WH chaos!” he tweeted Monday morning.
