Trump Accuses Obama of Tapping His Phones

President Donald Trump took to Twitter early Saturday to accuse former President Barack Obama of tapping his phones ahead of the election, a claim denied by a spokesman for Obama. “Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” he wrote. He went on to hint at legal action over the accusation, saying a “good lawyer” could probably “make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election!” “How low has President Obama gone to tapp [sic] my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!” Kevin Lewis, a spokesman for Obama, later refuted Trump's allegations, calling them “simply false.”
