Tornado Tears Through Louisiana

High winds suspected to be a tornado blew through the southwestern town of Rayne, Louisiana, on Saturday, knocking down homes, trees, and power lines, injuring at least 11 people, and killing a mother attempting to protect her daughter. A Louisiana State Police Trooper said the area has been evacuated due to natural gas leaks, and residents have taken shelter in a town fire station. Nine people have allegedly been taken to local hospitals, one of them with serious injuries. The National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings for parts of Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
