Top Official Testifies on Benghazi

The former top U.S. diplomatic security official in Libya testified in front of a Congressional committee Wednesday, telling a House panel that security resource requests in Benghazi before last month’s attack were “considered seriously and fastidiously.”. Eric Nordstrom said he had never before witnessed an attack of such “ferocity and intensity” in Libya nor during his tenure with the State Department, but warned officials not to overreact to the attack. The hearing was highly politically charged, as Congressional Democrats and Republicans blamed each other for various missteps related to the attack and the damage control that ensued.
