Tight Race

Top GOP Contend With Obama

Is it time for President Obama to start packing his bags? A new Gallup poll shows that if the election were to happen today, the top four GOP presidential contenders would run a tightly contested race against the president. Obama’s approval rating against Michele Bachmann was 48 to 44 percent, and 47 to 45 percent against Ron Paul. While Rick Perry’s 47 percent tied the president, Mitt Romney is leading Obama 48 to 46 percent. More startling numbers: Obama only received about 85 percent of votes from Democrats in all four simulated races.
