TMZ: Kanye West Had ‘Temporary Psychosis’

Kanye West was hospitalized on Monday after his doctor called in to police telling them he had a mentally ill patient who could possibly become violent if officers attempted to help him, TMZ reported Tuesday. Law-enforcement sources told the Hollywood gossip outlet that Michael Farzam told police dispatchers that he had a patient named “Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5’8”, 175 lbs... suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.” TMZ further reported that the doctor told police the troubled rapper had attempted to assault a staff member at a gym; and asked that West be placed in a psychiatric hold—meaning he be restrained and confined involuntarily. West cut short his Saturday evening set in Sacramento, California, after just three songs and a rant about Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Hillary Clinton; and before that, during a Thursday evening show in San Jose, he confessed that had he voted in the presidential election, he would’ve cast a ballot for Donald Trump. A spokesperson confirmed Monday that the last 21 shows on the Saint Pablo tour—including stops in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Texas—have been canceled and “tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase.”
