The Pope's Da Vinci Code Revenge?

At least he didn’t send Los Angeles that priest from India: The Pope has appointed a member of Opus Dei, the shadowy fundamentalist Catholic sect that Dan Brown demonizes in The Da Vinci Code, to head the southern California dioceses. The Telegraph savors the irony of Jose Gomez, whose position in California will be the highest held by a member of Opus Dei, presiding over Hollywood, which created The Da Vinci Code film that the Vatican angrily denounced. The Catholic Church of Los Angeles has been one of the most-plagued dioceses by sex-abuse scandals; no priest of Opus Dei, meanwhile, has ever been caught in a sex scandal.
