‘The Jungle Book’ Opens with $103.6M

The Jungle Book won the box office weekend with an estimated $103.6 million haul, the second highest opening in April ever. Analyst projections suggested it would make $80 million. The only April release to out-earn it is last year's Furious 7. “We are ecstatic about where we’re starting and what it means for the future,” said Dave Hollis, the studio's distribution chief.
