Texas to Switch Death-Penalty Drugs

The shortage of execution drugs has hit the death penalty’s capital: Texas announced Wednesday that it will switch the second drug in its three-drug cocktail from sodium thiopental, which is in short supply, to pentobarbital. In related news, the DEA seized Georgia’s supply of thiopental, saying the state’s Department of Corrections illegally imported the drug so it could proceed with executions.
