Texas Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Jazmine Barnes Murder

Authorities in Texas have released a sketch of a man accused of gunning down 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes in front of her family in late December. “This is the man witnesses say murdered 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes on 12/30 as her family drove on the E. Sam Houston Pkwy frontage road at Wallisville Road,” the Harris County Sheriff's Office said in a statement accompanying the sketch on Twitter. The suspect was described as a “thin white man” in his “30's-40's” who had a “red pickup.” Police also released a video of the truck the suspect allegedly drove during the murder and appealed to the public to phone in any tips, as the suspect is still at large. Barnes was shot to death in a drive-by shooting on Houston's East Sam Houston Parkway while she was in her mother's vehicle on Dec. 30. The suspect allegedly pulled up alongside LaPorsha Washington's car near a Walmart parking lot and began to open fire on Barnes and her three sisters. “He fired at us for no reason and now my baby is dead,” Washington previously told The Daily Beast.
