Texas Mom Has Two Sets of Twins

A Texas woman gave birth last week to two sets of identical twin boys on the same day—a feat that doctors say is likely only to happen in one in 70 million births. Ace, Blaine, Cash, and Dylan were born on Valentine’s Day to Tressa Montalvo, 36, and her husband, Manuel, 43, in Houston. Twins only occur in about 2 percent of all births, and identical twins, when a fertilized egg splits in two, make up just 30 percent of all twins. In this case, two fertilized eggs split, resulting in quadruplets that are really two sets of identical twins. The boys will join older brother Memphis, 2, but the Montalvos said they may someday try for a girl. Some parents are never satisfied.
