Terror Suspect Had Tony Blair’s Address

The trial of alleged U.K. terror suspect Erol Incendal revealed Tuesday that he kept the address of Tony and Cherie Blair in his car, according to the prosecution. Incendal is accused of planning attacks similar to the ones in Mumbai in 2008, which resulted in the death of more than 150 people. The trial is being conducted partially in secret and not all of the information disclosed will be available to the public. Tuesday also brought the arrests of three men and three women aged 23 to 57 in a counterterrorism operation. The arrests were related to terrorism in Syria, but “not linked to any immediate threat to local communities,” according to the South East Counter Terrorism Unit. Four were charged with suspicion of commission, preparation, and instigation of acts of terrorism. A 48-year-old woman was arrested for failing to disclose information about terrorism, and a 57-year-old man was arrested for failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, for engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts, and arranging availability of money and property for use in terrorism. The U.K. has stepped up its efforts to combat terrorism in the recent months, partially in response to the number of Britons linked to ISIS and the death of two British citizens, who were beheaded on camera.
