Ted Cruz: ‘Flyover Country’ Got Revenge

Ted Cruz characterized Donald Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton as the “revenge of the flyover country” in a speech Friday in Washington. Clinton’s loss, Cruz said at an event hosted by the Federalist Society, was “the direct result of not listening to and not hearing the American people.” He also praised Trump’s choice of Jeff Sessions to be attorney general. Cruz did not initially endorse Trump, refusing to support his candidacy even at the Republican National Convention in July, but he eventually warmed up to the reality-TV star during the final weeks before Election Day.
