TCM Host Robert Osborne Dies at 84

Robert Osborne, film historian and Turner Classic Movies host, has died at 84. “All of us at Turner Classic Movies are deeply saddened by the death of Robert Osborne,” TCM said in a statement. Osborne was also an author who chronicled the history of the Oscar awards in 80 Years of the Oscar. TCM is currently the only American movie network that uses a host to preview a film before it plays on the network. Earlier in his carrer, Osborne starred in a few TV series and worked as an entertainment reporter for television stations in Los Angeles and New York.
