Tajikistan Cops Shave 13,000 Beards

Police in Tajikistan reportedly shaved about 13,000 men's beards in an effort to combat "radicalism" and "foreign" influence. Authorities also closed about 160 shops selling traditional Muslim clothing last year as part of the anti-radical effort. Law enforcement allegedly also somehow convinced more than 1,700 women and girls to stop wearing headscarves in the landlocked, central Asian country.
