Super Bowl Heads to N.Y. Area for 2014

Brrr! It’s official, the big game is heading to the Northeast. Sidelining proposals from warmer Tampa, Florida, and South Florida locales, the NFL is sending the 2014 Super Bowl to its first ever cold-weather climate. The vote was cast to endorse the Giants and Jet’s New Meadowlands Stadium, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The choice “represented an embrace of New York’s abundant entertainment, promotional, and financial opportunities.” The NFL commission hopes the city will help maximize the game’s revenue and audience—considerations that outweigh concerns of some owners who are opposed to the prospect of foul-weather affecting the game.
