Suit: Uber Tracks Users After Ride

A 23-page complaint filed Monday by the Electronic Privacy Information Center alleges that Uber’s new privacy policy will let the company track users even after they leave the car. EPIC claims the app will be able to access contact lists and collect ride-destination data—and may even keep tracking riders if it’s running in the background when they get out of the car. Uber denies these claims, instead saying that the new policies “are much simpler to read and set out more clearly the data we collect, as well as how we use it.”
