A bomb explosion in a busy shopping section of Sweden’s capital today killed one man and injured two others. The attack is thought to be linked to Afghanistan, based on an email that a Swedish news agency received 10 minutes beforehand. The message warned of retributions for Sweden’s military presence in Afghanistan as part of Nato. “Our actions will speak for themselves, as long as you do not end your war against Islam and humiliation of the Prophet,” a recording within the email warned. The letter also mentioned Swedish artist Lars Vilks, who came under fire for a cartoon featuring the Islamic prophet Muhammad in 2007.
