South Sudan Aid Being Looted

The situation in South Sudan just got even worse. On Friday, thousands of looters raided two World Food Program warehouses in the town of Malakai, taking 1,700 tons of vegetable oil, high-nutrition food, computers, light fittings, fans, roof tiles and more—they even cut the canvas off storage tents. The stolen food would have fed more than 100,000 families for a month. Currently, 3.7 million people in the two-year-old nation are in need of basic food assistance and humanitarian agencies have poured billions into aid for the nation.
