South African Parliament Moves Closer to Ousting President Jacob Zuma

South Africa’s parliament is set to review regulations for how it could remove President Jacob Zuma from office. Zuma, 75, has been under pressure over allegations of corruption, and a recent court ruling slamming parliament over a lack of accountability. An opposition faction within Zuma’s political party, the African National Congress (ANC), is also gaining steam after an opposition member was elected as party leader. Lawmakers are to meet next week to review certain measures that could put Zuma closer to being ousted as president.
